From the book cover:

In Studies in Icelandic Fourteenth Century Book Painting, a number of issues related to Icelandic illuminated medieval manuscripts are investigated. In The making of Icelandic illuminated manuscripts, a scrutiny of the illuminations in a group of manuscripts, mutually associated on philological grounds, leads to a consideration of the methodological principles underlying groupings made on the basis of decoration, and of the circumstances of production of illuminated manuscripts, in general, in fourteenth century Iceland. In The Ártíðaskrá Vestfirðinga calvary group: An Icelandic miniature from the fourteenth century, a hitherto unpublished full-page miniature in a Latin calendary is examined stylistically, the contents and function

of devotional books of the kind in which it appears are reviewed, and its inclusion in a group, comprising in total six illuminated manuscripts, is established.
