The author has been paritcipating in the Reykholt conferences and taken these studies further in this book.   Author: Lena Liepe(b. 1962) is professor in art history at the University of Oslo, Norway. Her main research area is Nordic and North European medieval art and architecture. In The making of Icelandic illuminated manuscripts, a scrutiny of the illuminations in a group of manuscripts, mutually associated on philological grounds, leads to a consideration of the methodological principles underlying groupings made on the basis of decoration, and of the circumstances of production of illuminated manuscripts, in general, in fourteenth century Iceland.
